Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Collection

YAY!!  It’s the first Tutorial Thursday for the month of June.. meaning flowers are in bloom and warm weather is upon us!  Like many of you, i’m really looking forward to summer… & what better way to start off the month of June with a cute floral nail design to get you in the mood!

This design’s a bit tedious due to the multiple colors and dotting for each nail.  But once you get a rhythm going it’s a breeze!

Here’s what you need to get started creating your own trendy Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 fashion inspired nails!

The Tools

(from left to right)

Baby Blue Nail Polish: Rock the boat – Essie
(Flowers) Bright Light Blue Nail Polish: Light Blue Diamond Polish – Azature
(Flowers) Medium Purple Nail Polish: Light Lilac Diamond Polish – Azature
(Flowers-centers) Pastel Light Purple Nail Polish: Full Steam Ahead – Essie
(Flowers) Pale Pink Nail Polish: Dot – Zoya
(Flowers-centers) Bright Light Pink Nail Polish: Fiji – Essie

Matte Nail Polish:  Matte About You – Essie

Nail Art Dotting Tool or Toothpick

Zuhair Murad -tools

Step 1:  Start off with 2 coats of a baby blue nail polish.  I used Rock the Boat by Essie.

Step 2:  Using your dotting tool and a bright light blue nail polish (Light Blue Diamond Polish – Azature) make a few dots  in the shape of flowers.  I start by making one dot and then 2-3 more around that center dot to make my flower shape.  Gradually make your flower shapes smaller as you head towards your cuticle.

Step 3: Using the same method as step 2 make a few more flower shapes with your medium purple.  (Light Lilac Diamond Polish – Azature)

Step 4: Now add your center’s to your light blue & medium purple flowers.  Light purple over the darker purple and over the bright blue.

Step4-NailsStep 5: Using your lighter shade of pink make a few more random flower dots and add your centers with a brighter shade of pink.

Step 6: I like to add a dry fast top coat prior to adding my matte nail polish just to insure that the design doesn’t smudge or run.

Step 7:  After you sealed in your design with your top coat.  Add one more coat of Matte Nail Polish to create a matte look! I used Matte About You by Essie.
