“Wishes” is the brand new collection launched by Zoya for Winter 2014!

All I have to say is… SPEC-TAC-U-LAR!!!
Each creme nail polish has a complimenting sparkly Pixie Dust shade to match.  I’m starting to notice the trend that Zoya’s been following… creating mix and match shades in each collection.  LOVING THIS IDEA!!!!

When I opened my box of 6 Zoya Wishes nail polishes I was inspired to create another fun Holiday nail design.  So far this one’s my favorite!!!

It’s a little tricky using the striping tape but once you get the hang of it, it’s a breeze!

Using tape to accentuate the sparkly pixie dust did this design wonders!  So, if you’re too nervous attempting this design on your own.. pick up the polishes and nail tape and bring it to your local salon… show them these trendy nails and have them re-create the look for you!

Here’s what you’ll need

The Tools

  • Willa – Zoya – creamy jet black nail polish
  • Imogen – Zoya Pixie Dust – textural sparkly black glitter polish
  • Silver thin nail art striping tape

Tools

Step 1:  Start off with a clear base coat and then 1 coat of Willa by Zoya.  If you choose to do 2 coats of Willa make sure your nails completely dry before applying the tape.

Step-1-Willa-Zoya

Step 2:  Apply 2 stripes of silver tape to each completely dry nail.

Step-2---finger

I found the best way to make this design look flawless is to do this process not once but twice!

  1. Place the tape down as your guide.
  2. Paint the Pixie Dust color over the center of each nail… if you paint over the tape it’s okay, cause you want to immediately peel off the tape after you get the perfect amount of sparkly coverage in the center of each nail.
  3. Finally re-apply the tape in the same spot which accentuates the glitter design x 10!  (Try using tweezers to get the placement perfect)

Step-2

Cut the overhanging tape with small scissors or cuticle cutters. (I found cuticle cutters work best)

Lastly … Top off each nail with 1 coat of your favorite dry fast top coat & VOILLA!!!

Step3

If designing all 5 fingers is too much, try blinging out your accent nail.
Here’s a close up of my non-dominant hand (right hand) with just one trendy nail decorated.

I must say… the “Wishes” Collection by Zoya is the perfect blend for holiday nail art!  Or you can just wear these shades alone!  Either way … i’m definitely hooked on the collection and think you should check it out too!

Each creamy shade from the Wishes collection retail $9/ bottle and the pixie dust shades $10/bottle.  3 creams and 3 pixie shades come in the collection.

Stay tuned for swatches and reviews of each color.

Ps.. I’m wearing Willa for the solid black and love it!  It’s creamy and applies nice and even when you wear a clear base coat.  It’s an almost jet black!  A great alternative to black.

The Wishes Collection by Zoya is available now online at www.zoya.com as well as your local Ulta Beauty Store!
