As someone who has always struggled with weak and brittle nails, I understand the frustration of not being able to grow long, strong nails. Over the years, I have tried countless remedies and treatments, but nothing seemed to work. However, in recent months, I have finally found a combination of methods that have helped me achieve my goal of longer, stronger nails. In this blog post, I will share my journey and the tips and tricks that have worked for me.

My nail journey started when I was a teenager. I was a chronic nail biter, which left my nails in terrible shape. Even after I stopped biting my nails, they were still weak and prone to breaking. I tried everything from nail strengtheners to biotin supplements, but nothing seemed to work. I was frustrated and felt like I would never have the beautiful, strong nails that I longed for.

It wasn’t until recently that I started to see some real progress. Here are the steps that I took to achieve my goal of longer, stronger nails:

  1. Stopped Biting My Nails The first step in my journey was to stop biting my nails. It was a difficult habit to break, but I knew that it was essential if I wanted to grow long, healthy nails. To help me stop biting, I kept my nails painted with clear nail polish and a sheer nail color. Not only did this make my nails look better, but it also served as a reminder not to bite them.
  2. Changed My Diet I also realized that my diet was playing a significant role in the health of my nails. I started to incorporate more protein into my diet, as well as foods high in biotin, like eggs and spinach.
  3. Moisturized Regularly Moisturizing my nails and cuticles regularly was another important step in my journey. I started using garlic pearls for my cuticle oil every night before bed and hand cream once a day or every other day. Keeping my nails and cuticles moisturized helped to prevent them from becoming dry and brittle, which can lead to breakage.
  4. Filed My Nails Properly I also learned that filing my nails properly was crucial to their health. I stopped using harsh metal nail files and switched to a glass nail file, which is much gentler on the nails. I also started filing my nails in one direction instead of back and forth, which can cause the nails to split and break.
  5. Avoided Harsh Chemicals Another thing that I did to help my nails was to avoid harsh chemicals. I stopped using acetone-based nail polish removers and started using a gentler, non-acetone formula. I also made sure to wear gloves when doing household chores that involved harsh chemicals, like cleaning the bathroom.
  6. Protecting Nails Protecting your nails is essential to prevent them from becoming damaged. I started wearing gloves while doing household chores, which helped protect my nails from harsh chemicals and also prevented them from breaking. I also avoided using my nails as tools, which helped prevent them from becoming damaged.
  7. Patience Improving the health of your nails takes time, and it requires patience. It is important to remember that there is no overnight solution to achieving long and healthy nails. I remained patient and consistent with my nail care routine, and eventually, In 2 weeks i began to see results.

It was an incredible feeling to see the results of my hard work and dedication.  I am finally ready for my first french manicure in over 2 years!

In conclusion, achieving long and healthy nails is possible with the right diet, hydration, moisturizing, regular trimming, avoiding harsh chemicals, protecting nails, and patience.
