Summer Trends

According to Harper’s Bazaar Pinks are a trend for Summer 2014!  What better way to coordinate your favorite summer outfits then with some fun new summer nail polish shades!

2 new collections by Zoya called Tickled & Bubbly is finally out & definitely hits the color trends for summer!  I Absolutely LOVE THEM!

The first collection called Tickled is a group of creamy bright shades of pinks, coral, blue, aqua and green.  Then there’s the Bubbly collection with 6 complimentary shades of sparkle jelly’s that can be worn alone or on top of any of the Tickled colors!

In today’s nail art tutorial I decided to use a few of the colors from both collections to show how well they compliment each other!

What you’ll need for this look below is the following:

The Tools

Light Pink (Cream)- Kirtridge Zoya

Dark Pink (Cream)- Rooney Zoya

Light Sparkle Pink (Jelly Glitter) Harper  Zoya

Dark Sparkle Pink/Purple (Jelly Glitter) Binx Zoya

Striping Nail Art Tape

Striping Nail Art Brush (optional)

Step 1:  Start off with solid nails. Alternate your nails with 1 coat of Rooney by Zoya (darker pink) & 1 coat of Kirtridge by Zoya (lighter pink)

Step1-TB

Step 2:  Once your polish has dried now it’s time to tape off your nails using striping tape.  (A little tricky and tedious but practice makes perfect!)

Step2-Tape-Nails

Step 3:  Now it’s time to cover your nails.  Leaving the base color protected by the tape.  You need to do this step pretty quickly so you can peel the tape off your nails before the polish has time to set.

On your light pink nails follow the steps below.

(Tip of Nail) Cover the tip with 1 coat of Rooney by Zoya. (darker pink)

(Middle Section) Cover the middle section of your nail with 1-2 coats of Binx by Zoya. (darker sparkle purple)

(Base of Nail)  Cover the part of your nail closest to the cuticle with 1 coat of Rooney by Zoya (darker pink)

Before the polish is able to set peel off your tape.

Do the same for your other nails…

On your medium pink nails follow the steps below.

(Tip of Nail) Cover the tip with 1 coat of Kirtridge by Zoya. (lighter pink)

(Middle Section) Cover the middle section of your nail with 1-2 coats of Harper by Zoya. (lighter sparkle pink)

(Base of Nail)  Cover the part of your nail closest to the cuticle with 1 coat of Kirtridge by Zoya (lighter pink)

Before the polish is able to set peel off your tape.

* When I took off the tape I decided to add one center stripe of light pink to break up the glitter center.

When your nails are complete they should look like this!

I left my thumb and pinky nail solid Kirtridge (bubble gum pink) and covered them with one coat of Harper by Zoya from the brand new Tickled & Bubbly Collections!

These two collections work great together!  You can wear each of the collections alone or layered.  The sparkle group of jelly polishes (Bubbly) looks great as an overlay to the solid cream based (Tickled) polishes!  As seen below I added colors from the Bubbly collection Harper & Binx over Kirtridge & Rooney from the Tickled Collection and they really made for cool looking pink nails!

Each bottle from Zoya’s Tickled & Bubbly Collection cost $9.  They can be purchased directly from www.zoya.com or found online through Amazon or at Ulta Beauty.  I included direct shopping links for convenience!

I’d love to hear from you!  Let me know what you think of these nails!
