Blue French Manicure TheTrendyNai

Blue French Manicure TheTrendyNai

Wanna try something a little different from the regular red, white & blue nails for Independence Day Weekend?!

Well a few weeks ago over father’s day weekend I tried out these tips & absolutely loved them… and thought what better time then July 4th weekend to share my newly discovered favorite patriotic tips!

So, here’s my take on making the average french manicure, not so average.

Instead of keeping my tips solid, I mixed 2 of my new favorite summer polishes Ling & Muse from the Tickled & Bubbly Collection by Zoya.  By mixing the two colors, created a cool reflective sea blue tips to surely dazzle everyone you see!

I also wanted to try a different base color than my normal go-2  essie shades  (Mademoiselle, Waltz, Delicacy or Marshmallow).  Instead I used 1 coat of Azature Blush which created a really pretty soft looking nude base.

Here’s what you’ll need:

The Tools

Base Coat
Nude Base Color:  Blush – Azature Diamond
Blue Cream:  Ling –  Zoya
Sparkle Blue:  Muse – Zoya
Shiny Top Coat:  Good To Go – Essie or Seche Vite

Striping Brush

French Manicure Guides (Optional)

Since the Zoya brushes are narrow enough I actually found it easiest to use the Zoya nail polish brush to create my clean edged tips.  But if you don’t have a steady hand you can buy French Manicure Guides or a striping brush.

Step 1:  After applying your clear base coat, apply 1 coat of Blush by Azature all over your nails to create a solid nude nail.

Step 2:  Using either the polish brush or your striping brush paint your solid blue tips using Ling by Zoya.

Tip:  It helps to get an even line by starting out in the corner of your nail.  Hold the brush still and carefully roll the tip of your finger across your polish brush.

Step 3:  Wipe most of the excess polish off the brush and using the same technique in step 2 paint a thin layer of sparkly Muse by Zoya over each tip.

Step 4: Seal in your pretty tips with a coat of your favorite dry fast top coat.

Here’s a few close ups…

ps.. If you haven’t tried out the Zoya Tickled & Bubbly Collections then you’re really in for a treat!  Available at Ulta Beauty Stores… or online… go pick up 2 bottles…(1 color from each collection) and when coupled together they really create a magical effect to your nails.

What ever nail design you choose I hope everyone has a fabulous July 4th Weekend!
& as always…
