A Closer Look at the Essie Winter 2015 Collection

Beauty, Fashion, Fitness & Nails

Hey there nail enthusiasts!

Today’s post is a closer look into the 6 new nail lacquers released by Essie for Winter 2015!  I must say, it’s refreshing to see some pastel shades in the collection, instead of your same old jewel tones.  I was also surprised as well as excited when I saw the platinum shade Apres-Chic making it’s debut!  Ladies always love adding a bit of jazz to their nails during the holiday season and Apres-Chic is a great platinum accent color for that!
Along with the platinum silver Apres-Chic and the two pastel shades Virgin Snow and Peak Show there are 2 reds covered in the collection.  One red ruby called Shall We Challet? and a brighter and cleaner scarlet red called Altitude Attitude.  Lastly is my favorite shade in the collection, Haute Tub a jet black nail lacquer with an amethyst undertone.  Absolutely seductive and a perfect alternative to your average black.

Take a closer look at each below.

Essie Winter 2015

après-chic  – If you’re looking for a mirror like platinum shade then Apres-Chic by Essie is your go-to for winter!  Shown with 2 coats, it’s easy to apply, no streaks and easy to remove.  A fabulous shade for an accent nail too!

virgin snow – A soft periwinkle blue.  Perfect with two coats and matches extremely well with Peak Show (shown below).   Virgin-Snow-essie

peak show A clean powder pink.  At first i thought of Figi another bright clean pink from Essie.  It’s a bit streaky, but by the 2nd coat you’ll have solid, creamy pink nails.  I would suggest using a matte nail lacquer as a base coat to prevent the streaking.

shall we challet? On my top favorites for reds this season Shall We Challet? is a gorgeous, warm, ruby red.  Streak-Free and perfect for the winter & holiday season.
Shown with 2 coats, i’d definitely recommend Shall We Challet?

haute tub  Another one of my favorites this season!  Haute Tub is the perfect blend of jet black with a subtle hint of amethyst sparkle.  Streak-Free and easily worn with 1 or 2 coats, but I show it with two coats below.  Upon removal, you don’t have to worry about it leaving any dark residue either.  Double Bonus!! Removes clean and easy!

altitude attitude A brighter red… a great shade if you’re looking for something on the cherry side.

And there you have it!  The 6 shades released by Essie for Winter 2015!

My Top 3 based on everyday wear-ability:

#1 Shall We Challet?
#1 Haute Tub
#1 Altitude Attitude

Favorite Party Color: Apres-Chic
