OMG Nail Strips!
Hey there Nail Enthusiasts!
Today’s blog is all about OMG Nail Strips!
If you’re unfamiliar with nail strips here’s the scoop…
Basically they’re an easy alternative to wearing nail designs without needing a steady hand or a bunch of nail art tools. Some people refer to them as nail decals, nail stickers or nail strips.
I was unfamiliar with the brand OMGnailstrips.com until recently, when I was contacted asking if I would be interested in trying out their product? Of course I never pass up an opportunity to try new products… so I said YES!
This is actually my first time trying out nail “strips. I’ve always wanted to try them but was a little skeptical. I had a choice to pick out my own design, but instead I let OMG nail strips do the picking..
They chose a simple black & white crackle print… Hindsight I wish I had picked my design because I can easily paint this on my own. But regardless.. I was excited to try them out.
Here’s what they look like when you take them out of the clear sleeve.
2 Sets of nail decals in a variety of sizes.
Here’s a great YouTube Video showing How To Apply the Nail Strips for a perfect fit!
I’ve heard of issues with other nail strip brands. Once you remove them from their packaging you need to use them right then or they’re unusable. This is not the case with OMG Nail Strips.
You can choose to use one nail strip for an accent nail or use all for a full set of pattern nails!
I like that they’re not very difficult to apply. The application took some time getting used to but once I got the hang of it it wasn’t that bad. I didn’t have any problems with shrinkage… but the hardest part for me was to smooth the nail sticker evenly onto my nail without wrinkles. They suggest after you apply your nail strips and file down the excess you need run a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover over your decal 2 times to insure that the strip adheres to your nail. Then apply your favorite top coat to seal in the nail sticker. I used (Seche Vite) and they stayed on for days.
You can easily remove them with nail polish remover, or soak a cotton ball with polish remover and saturate your nails then use an orange stick to slide the decal off your nails.
Overall i’d have to say that it’s a fun concept and something I would try again but with a different pattern… I really like the “Viper Strips”
Seeing as though I’m an artist and enjoy painting, I think i’ll continue to focus on my free hand nail art for now. 🙂
