Hey there nail enthusiasts!

Since I received a variety of nail foils from I’ve been utterly obsessed with them!  They are legit, hands down the easiest way to create cool “no fuss” nail art in seconds!
This time I decided to try out my pink/blue/turquoise ombre nail foils #23 on top of a brand new color released for fall 2014 by essie called Style Cartel.

In my most recent review of Essie’s Fall Collection I spoke about how striking Style Cartel is.  Well it’s even better when used as a base with similar toned nail foils!

  1. For this particular nail look I used 2 coats of Style Cartel by Essie.
  2. Waited for that to set and added 1 coat of clear polish…
  3. Finally gently applied my nail foils color side up directly to each nail, using a short, quick pat and pull technique on each nail.

One thing I found interesting… is if you add a top coat over the foil, the foil seems to react a bit, creating a subtle crackle.  So, i would suggest trying it both ways… with and without a top coat and see which way you prefer.
I did notice that my nail foils were protected and lasted longer when I added a top coat.. So, i’d say it’s really a personal preference.

In the pictures shown I added 1 coat of seche vite to each nail.  As you can see… there’s a little bit of a crackle appearance on some of the nails.   (notice the crackle on the pinky nail in the turquoise area)
