Nail Art Tutorial: Supporting Stand Up To Cancer

Beauty, Fashion, Fitness & Nails

Hey There Nail Enthusiasts!

While I was watching the World Series and let me add.. I’m a Red Sox Fan!  I was moved by the Mastercard “Stand Up 2 Cancer & Do Good” Campaign.  From 10/24-12/31/13 every time you spend $10 or more on a meal using your Mastercard.  Mastercard will make a donation up to $4 million dollars to Stand Up to Cancer.  For more information on this wonderful charity click on Stand Up to Cancer.

For today’s post I decided to do a stitch effect and create another simple yet fun nail art design supporting Cancer Awareness.

Follow these Simple Steps to get these Trendy Nails!

Links to all of the items mentioned in this post can be found at the bottom of the page.

I used 3 polishes and a dotting tool to get these trendy nails.

  1. Sweet Heart Pink by OPI
  2. Sailor by Zoya
  3. Matte About You by Essie for a flawless matte top coat finish.

The Tools

Step 1
Paint your nails solid pink.  I used 2 coats of Sweet Heart by OPI.  I love this pink.  It doesn’t streak and glides on smooth and opaque.  A must have for your neutral nail polish collection.

Step 2Using your dotting tool and navy nail polish, create your stitches.  Paint 2 lines of blue dashes.  An easy way to do this is to load on some polish and lightly drag the tool along your nail, making sure to leave space between each dash and line.

Step 3
Using the same dotting tool and navy polish, create your flowers… Offset the flowers towards the sides of your nails.  I found it easier to make my center dot first, followed by my petals which I created by dragging my dotting tool the same way I painted my stitches on the tips of my nails.

Create the Bow:  Using the same dotting tool and navy polish I simply made dots and dashes in the shape of a bow.

Step 4
Lastly paint 1 coat of Matte Me Crazy by Essie Matte Top Coat to give your nails a cool matte finish.

Show your support and paint your nails pink!
