Nail Art Inspiration: Stella McCartney SS14

Beauty, Fashion, Fitness & Nails

Hey there Nail Enthusiasts!

Today’s Mani of the Day nail art is inspired by a piece from Stella McCartney‘s latest Spring/Summer 2014 collection.  Following the theme for October’s Support for Breast Cancer Awareness I thought this would be a fun pattern to attempt on my nails.

I was very surprised at how simple and few steps it took to turn this floral into nail art.  Under 30 minutes from start to finish and my nails were good to go!

Simply using 3 colors – 2 shades of pink and a snowy white.
Links to products mentioned in this post can be found at the bottom of the page.

Follow a few simple steps to get these Trendy Nails!

Step 1: Paint your nails with 2 shades of pink.  For the darker shade I used Yana by Zoya and for the lighter I used Micky by Zoya.  You only need 1 coat of polish for each color… this is ’cause you’ll be covering up your nail in the next step.

Step 2:  Paint your snowy white flowers.  To do this I used Solitaire Liquid Sand by OPI and a thin paint brush gently daubing the nail lacquer on my nails and making a few jagged circular shapes.  Adding a few petals by painting a few lines from the center around the outside of the circles.   I also connected a few of my shapes.  Perfection is not a must for this floral pattern, so have fun with it! 😉

Step 2- BCA

Step 3:  Give your flowers centers!  By adding small dots to the center of your shapes this will separate your flowers and make your nail art come to life!  Using the darkest shade of pink make a few dots inside the centers of your flowers.  You can do this with any of the following tools:  dotting tool, toothpick, end of a sharpened pencil or a pen.  In this case I used Yana for my flower centers.

Step 4:  Lastly… seal in your design with one coat of your favorite dry fast top coat.
