Hey there nail enthusiasts!
Do you ever just start painting your nails & half way through decide you want to spice them up with some sparkle?
Well that’s what happened here … I started off painting my nails with Zoya’s new shade Eastyn and next thing I knew i began layering polishes!
I really like the way matte & shiny polishes look when coupled together, so I decided to mix shiny + matte + sparkles to each of my nails with the hopes of creating a cool, eye-catching element my nails.
This is so simple to re-create, using a mix of shades from Zoya and a thin striping brush.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Zoya Nail Polish Eastyn – Dusty cream lavender
- Zoya Matte Velvet Nail Polish Sue – Matte Velvet gold nail polish
- Zoya Nail Polish Payton – Deep Purple Nail Polish
- Zoya Pixie Dust Nail Polish Imogen – Black Pixie Dust
- Thin Nail Art Striping Brush
All of the nail polishes can be purchased online at www.zoya.com or at Ulta Beauty Stores Nationwide.
Step 1 – Base Color: Start off with 2 coats of Zoya Eastyn over all your nails.
Step 2 – Seal It In: Add 1 coat of your favorite dry fast top coat to seal in your base color.
Step 3 – Matte Overlay: Using either the brush from the nail polish or a striping brush, start a little more than half way across your nail bed and paint a slight curved “C” shape towards the tip of each nail & fill in the sides. I used Matte Sue by Zoya.
Step 4 – 2nd Smaller Overlay: Using a thin striping brush paint another little curve over the gold with a deep purple. Try and widen your curve at the top of each nail for a little more dimension. I used Zoya Payton for full coverage after 1 coat.
Step 5 – Glitter Accent: Lastly I added some sparkle to the purple shapes by daubing a little Zoya Imogen pixie dust over each & you’re done! Be sure not to add any top coat over the matte or you’ll ruin the matte vs. shiny effect.
