Mani of the Day: Versace Resort 2014

Designer: Versace

Collection: Resort 2014

Look: #8 Gingham and Floral Print Swim Suit

Donatella Versace’s sweet & sexy 60’s maritime vibe was the focus for her 32 piece Resort 2014 collection.  Versace brilliantly coordinated floral prints and gingham checks all within a bold color palette consisting of turquoise, tangerine, bubblegum pink, and daffodil yellow. Black, white & touches of gold accents also appeared in the line.   Flared pants, cropped sailor striped cardigans, high-waisted pencil skirts and of course the signature Medusa button appeared throughout.

I was drawn to the entire Versace Resort 2014 line but what stood out for me besides her gorgeous sheer sleeve evening dresses was this cutout, off the shoulder swimsuit.
Cleverly mixing floral print clusters with a gingham check and blending it all together with the color turquoise.  Soft colors and chic design this gingham + floral blend is JUST FAB!

Here’s how to get these fun summer Trendy Nails!

Step 1:  Paint your nails solid white.  Paint your ring finger solid turquoise.Step 2: Creating a Gingham Check:  Using your striping brush paint vertical stripes on your white nails using a turquoise color.
Flower Accent Nail: Paint a diagonal line and a horizontal line using yellow and fill in the space.
Step 3: Using your striping brush paint horizontal lines with the same turquoise color.
Flower Accent nail: Paint little round irregular spots (flowers) using a light blue, red, yellow & green nail polish
Step 4: Flower Accent nail: Finish your flowers with some dots in the middle for your flowers.  You can also use some darker shades red, yellow, green and blue to shade your flowers. Outline your flowers loosely with the darker shade … this will create a bit of dimension for your flowers.
Add white for the centers of some of the flowers.. vary the colors… it’s your nail art & your interpretation!
Step 5:  Finish it all off with your favorite dry fast top coat!
