Today’s mani muse was inspired by Miu Miu F/W 2015 runway collection.
For a while now i’ve been wanting to try a herringbone nail art design, so after seeing this collection i was immediately inspired!
Yes.. i know the fashion is for fall.. but it works so well with the colors for spring!
So, of course, loving the colors and print combo i decided to take a stab at it! Take a look at the steps below…
Here’s what you’ll need:
Step 1: Start off with solid cream nails. I used Tuck it in my Tux by Essie.
- Animal Print: Use Garden Variety and your striping brush to make a few small irregular shapes and curves for the animal print.
- Herringbone: Use your striping brush and a coral nail polish and paint a few small square shapes in a row. Leave some space between the squares.
- Herringbone: Use your striping brush and make two small diagonal lines at the top left corner of each box.
- Herringbone: Next fill in those small diagonals by making them a little thicker on the sides. Also add another diagonal line at the bottom left of the box and the top right.
Step 5: Lastly create your plaid over the herringbone. Using Garden Variety make a few small diagonal lines in a row up the center of your nail and then the same going across your nail.
Seal in your design with your favorite dry fast top coat & Voilla!
