Today’s Mani Monday features a simple stripe design using my new favorite gel polish system by Essie.  This is a simple design that can also be achieved using regular nail polish too.

The Tools:

Red: Rags to Riches – Essie Gel Polish
Gold: Oh What A Knight – Gelish
Blue: Suggestive & Sultry – Essie Gel Polish

Thin Nail Art Striping Brush

The base color is called Rags to Riches by Essie.  I absolutely adore this color!! It’s a sparkly bold red!  Perfect for a mani or a pedi!  Try it alone or with some nail art.

Check out the simple steps below to get these subtle chic trendy nails!

If you use gel polish to create this nail art, make sure you prep your nail first.  Depending on which gel polish system you use a bond primer and base coat may be needed.  For those of you using regular nail polish… follow the steps below and ignore the curing steps.  Simply paint and go!

Step 1: I started with 2 coats of Rags to Riches curing my nails under my LED lamp for 45 seconds between each coat.

Step 2: Next I used a thin striping brush and painted a narrow line of gold along the far corner of each nail & cured for 45 seconds.

Step 3:  Lastly I painted another thin straight line next to my gold using a baby blue called Suggestive & Sultry by Essie Gel Polish & cured for 45 seconds.

Topping it all off with one final coat of Essie Gel Polish Top Coat to seal in my manicure!
