The “Ruffian” manicure has made it’s mark in the nail scene & I personally love it!
So for today’s tutorial I decided to show you not only how to do this Ruffian manicure but add a gradient to it as well!
First off here’s what you’ll need.
The Tools
Solid violet – Veronica – Zoya
Glittery counter part – Teigen – Zoya
Platinum Glitter Nail Polish – Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low – Essie
Small nail art striping brush
Dry Fast Top Coat – Good To Go – Essie
Step 1: After applying a base coat to each of your nails. Apply 1 coat of Veronica by Zoya to all your nails.
Step 2: Next simply leave a little space at your cuticle line. Using Teigen by Zoya start at the center of your nail and swipe to the right, then swipe from the same center spot to the left and then down the center if you left out a spot.
Step 3: Lastly add a little sparkle to the base of each nail with Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low by Essie. Drag off most of the polish from the brush and using a dry brush technique, paint a bit of Jiggle Hi Jiggle Low over the base dragging half way up your nail. If you want to add a little element to this .. you can use a striping brush and paint subtle borders along each side of each nail for a subtle highlight.
Finally add your favorite dry fast top coat and you’re good to go!
