Essie She Said Yes

is 1 of the 4 new soft shades released by Essie for their 2014 Wedding Collection.

She Said Yes is a soft, clean sheer white with a hint of an iridescence sparkle.  Naturally I would want to use this as a top coat for my french manicure but this time I wanted to see how it would look as a solid in place of solid white nails.  I love the shade… although i must say, due to it’s sheer consistency it definitely left streaks and took 4 coats to get these solid white nails.  Upon realizing that it’s a streaky color I tried it over 1 coat of matte nail polish and that definitely helped the color grab to the nail a bit better.

I was a little concerned that it would streak over my french but it seemed to hold better on top of another color.  That’s why I think “She Said Yes” would be a great addition if you’re looking for a subtle shimmer to add to your french manicure.

If you’re looking for new colors for a White on White french manicure…

  • I would definitely suggest starting with a clear base coat
  • 1 coat of matte nail polish
  • 1 coat of “She Said Yes” by Essie
  • paint your white nail tip using an opaque white such as Blanc – Essie
  • 1  coat of She Said Yes Essie (optional)
  • Dry fast top coat such as Good To Go by Essie, Seche Vite or CND Vinylux Top Coat

She-Said-Yes-Essie THE TRENDY NAIL

Regardless of the streak factor I still love this color and had no problem layering 4 coats to get the look I wanted.
