Essie Resort 2016

Essie Resort 2016

Hey there nail enthusiasts!
I’ve been super busy & finally had a chance to sit down and catch up on all my nail blogging “To-Do’s”!
Essie recently released a brand new Resort 2016 collection this May comprised of 4 bold & vibrant nail lacquers.
The collection was inspired by magnificent fashion, culture & sheer beauty of India & the  names say it all!  Delhi Dance creamy pink, Nama-Stay The Night true blue, Going Guru creamy mint & Taj-Ma-Haul terra cotta apricot.

Below are up close pics of the collection & my overall thoughts… which are actually really good. 🙂

Essie Resort 2016 Delhi-Dance

Essie – Delhi Dance – Bright Sari Pink (Candy colored pink) / $8.50

I’d best describe Delhi Dance as a cooler, creamy, candy colored pink.
Due to the thicker, more pigmented formula it’s opaque after the first coat absolving that streaking problem that can tend to happen with thinner formulas.
I really like this shade & would definitely recommend it.   For those of you who love creamy pinks & are looking for a clean, vibrant shade this spring Delhi Dance is a great choice for either a mani or a pedi.   Fun and vibrant with a cooler tone!  Below I’m wearing two coats.

Essie Going Guru – Meditative Mint Lime / $8.50

Another favorite of mine.  Going Guru by Essie is also vibrant and opaque after the first coat.  I had no issues with streaking due to the thicker formula.  I even stamped Delhi Dance over the top for a fun polka dot nail!

essie resort 2016 Taj-Ma-Haul

Essie – Taj-Ma-Haul – Spicy marigold apricot / $8.50

If you like a more neutral look but want a bit of color try out Taj-Ma-Haul.  Loving this warm apricot shade.

essie resort 2016 Nama-Stay-the-Night

Last but not least….
Essie – Nama-Stay The Night – Divine Goa Blue / $8.50
I would best describe Nama-Stay The Night as an opaque, creamy warm medium shade of  blue.  Another great pedi shade if you’re one who loves the color blue!

Below i stamped a simple peacock pattern using Nama-Stay The Night over Taj-Ma-Haul
Loving how these two blend together.

Overall the collection packs a great punch, offering a variety of wearable fun resort wear shades.  I really like the fact that Essie is introducing more formulas with stronger pigmentation.  These wont streak which is a plus for DIY’ers & if you’re looking for a brighter shade to wear on your tips or toes you have plenty of options in this collection.

Stampers, all of the colors in Essie’s Resort 2016 collection are great for stamping!

Essie’s Resort 2016 collection is available now in-stores & online at as well as,,,, CVS stores & fine salons and beauty destinations nationwide.  Each shade can be purchased for $8.50.
