DSquared-Resort 2016

Hey there nail enthusiasts!
I haven’t forgot about you!  Work’s been absolutely hectic for me the past few weeks which is why it’s been forever since my last blog post!  I don’t foresee it letting up anytime soon.. so blog posts might be a little less frequent for the next few weeks.
Today was the first day I actually had a minute to breathe… which is why i wanted to share with you a design
I created about a month ago inspired by the Dsquared² Resort 2016 Collection launched this June.

So without further ado… here’s what you’ll need to create these fashion inspired trendy nails!

The Tools

Periwinkle Blue – Salt Water Happy by Essie
Deep Red – Limited Addiction by Essie
Bright Ocean Blue – Pret-a-Surfer by Essie
Shimmery Gold – Brooklyn by Zoya
Black Crackle – Black Mesh by China Glaze (Black Crackle)
Matte Nail Polish – OPI Matte Top Coat

Generic Nail Art Striping Brush

Step 1: After applying your clear base coat, apply 2 coats of Salt Water Happy to your nails.

Step 2:  This step is optional, but i found it easiest to create a guide for my shapes.
Using a toothpick… outline your nail shapes with each color.

Step 3: Fill in your shapes with your colors.  I used Pret-a-Surfer by Essie for my deeper blue, Brooklyn by Zoya for the shimmery gold & Limited Addiction for my red wine color.

Step 4: Using a thin nail art striping brush paint a few lines separating your shapes with a black crackle polish.  This emulates the black stitching details in the jacket and skirt.  I used Black Mesh by China Glaze.. but any crackle polish will work.

Step 5:  Lastly finish off your design with one coat of matte nail polish for a matte finish!
