TUTORIAL THURSDAY: SPRING NAIL ART INSPIRED BY PEDRO LOURENCO
Today’s Tutorial Thursday spring nail art is inspired by runway fashion designer Pedro Lourenco for Spring 2014. I instantly fell in love with this cool ombre pattern crop top and thought it would translate fabulously into an easy “How-To” nail design for spring!
So without further ado, check out the 4 simple steps to get these runway inspired trendy nails!
Step 1: Start off with solid pink nails. I painted 2 coats of Sweet Heart by OPI.
Step 2: Using your medium shade of pink starting at the cuticle cover the bottom half of your nail.
Step 3: Create your Ombre Effect with dotted lines. Start at edge where the dark pink ends and light pink begins. Use a narrow tip dotting tool (or a toothpick) and create 1 line of dots across the dark pink edge. Then create a second line right above it, in the light pink area, with your medium pink color.
- Repeat the same step but in the opposite direction using your light pink color.
Finish it off with 1 coat of your favorite dry fast top coat & voilla!
I love the way this manicure turned out. Next time I’ll definitely try two pinks closer in shades to closer simulate the ombre effect. But all in all i’m really happy how it turned out. I’d love to hear from you! Let me know your thoughts.. would you try the ombre dotting effect on your nails, or leave it to the professionals?
