Think PINK Nail Art: Manicure’s Raising Breast Cancer Awareness

In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month aka.. Pinktober today’s nails are inspired by a brand new collection that recently hit the runway for Spring Ready To Wear 2015 by Giambattista Valli!

Wanting to do simple nails that represented my support for the fight against Breast Cancer I was immediately drawn to this design.

Here’s what you’ll need to create these trendy Pinktober fashion inspired nails!

The Tools

Pink nail polish – Fun Fair #068 by Ciate – UK- Fun Fair
White Nail Polish – Blanc by Essie
Black striping nail art polish
Black nail polish & a narrow striping brush.
Matte Top Coat – Matte About You – Essie

Step 1:  After applying your clear base coat apply 2 layers of your favorite soft pink nail polish to all 10 nails.  I used Fun Fair #068 by Ciate.

Step 2:   Using your striping brush paint two lines (top line & bottom line) across your accent nail and fill in the middle with your white nail polish.  You want this thick white band to be almost in the center of your nail.

Step 3:  Using your striping brush dipped in the pink paint 3 curved humps across the bottom part of your white band creating a scallop border.  I found it easiest to use my striping brush rather than my dotting tool due to the large size of the scalloped edge

Step 4: After painting your scalloped band paint the rest of your nails with thin white tips using either your striping brush and white nail polish or a white nail art striping brush.

Step 5: Using your black nail art striping brush or pen in the center of your white band paint 1 curved line about 3/4 across your nail aiming towards the right side of your nail tip and overlap the 2nd curved line on the left side of your nail creating a cute bow in the center.

Top it all off with a matte top coat for a cool matte finish.
I used Matte About You by Essie!
