ESSIE HOLIDAY NAILS : Glitter, Sparkle & Subtle Bling Nails
Merry Christmas To All My Trendy Nail Readers!
Today I wanted to share a few ideas for some holiday nail combo’s using the 2 NEW Glitter Polishes from the new line of Essie LuxEffects Forever Chic Collection.
1) Jazzy Jubilant
In the raw… here’s how Jazzy Jubilant will look over a naked nail. (Keep in mind, this is plastic nail form & you don’t see the white tip as you would with a natural nail.) Jazzy Jubilant has a clear jelly base with various confetti like glitter sparkles in shades of jade green, silver, gold and fushia. I personally like it best over a solid color or even over a silver glitter nail as shown in swatch #5.
2) Jazzy Jubilant – Essie over Seraphina by Zoya
In the 2nd swatch I used 2 coats of Jazzy Jubilant over 1 coat of platinum silver polish by Zoya called Seraphina.
3) Jazzy Jubilant – Essie over Warm & Toasty Turtleneck by Essie
In this combo the confetti really pops over this soft lavender from the Essie Winter 2013 Collection.
4) Jazzy Jubilant – Essie over Mind Your Mittens by Essie
Another cool combo layering Jazzy Jubilant over Mind Your Mittens a deep steel gray green by Essie also from their Winter 2013 Collection.
5) Jazzy Jubilant – Essie over Ignite The Night by Essie
If you’re in the mood for ultra glitter try layering Jazzy Jubilant over 1-2 coats of Ignite the Night from Essie’s Encrusted Treasures Collection.
6) Jazzy Jubilant – Essie over Going Incognito by Essie
Finally since there’s a significant amount of jade confetti flakes in Jazzy Jubilant I wanted to layer it over a coordinating solid jade green nail. I chose Going Incognito from Essie for my base.
All and all I am really pleased with the consistency of Jazzy Jubilant. It doesn’t clump even when you add 2 or even 3 coats! You can daub the confetti on your nails rather than paint it if you only want it on your tip, base or just a center glitter ball in the middle of your nails!
Jazzy Jubilant is available for purchase at local Ulta Beauty stores, CVS, or even online through Essie.com Suggested Retail: $8.50
In the raw… here’s how Sparkle on Top will look over a naked nail. (Keep in mind, this is plastic nail form & you don’t see the white tip as you would with a natural nail.) If you’ve ever spotted the Iridescent Clear Mylar wrapping paper or confetti in a gift wrapping store that’s exactly what Sparkle On Top will look over your bare nails. Sparkle On Top has a clear jelly base with medium size iridescent size mylar flecks. It’s hard to tell from the nail forms above but the reflective specs look great over a solid color nails.
2) Sparkle On Top – Essie over Parka Perfect by Essie
Sparkle on Top over Parka Perfect really brings out the iridescence in the clear flakes. A really cool effect.. didn’t show well in the photo but a must try!
3) Sparkle On Top – Essie over Blanc by Essie
When worn over white your nails will shimmer with a variety of pale iridescent colors.
4) Sparkle On Top- Essie over Fiji by Essie
When worn over a cotton candy shade pink such as Figi, the flakes will start to disappear and your left with an iridescent glow over each nail!
5) Sparkle On Top – Essie over Good Morning Hope by Essie
Another soft shade of pink, a little less opaque than Fiji, will give your nails a really pretty iridescent look.
6) Sparkle On Top – Essie over Pink A Boo by Essie
Pink A Boo is a sheer pink. If you’re looking for a “barely there” base color then try Good Morning Hope with 1 coat of Sparkle on Top for a subtle shimmer.
Once again I am really pleased with the iridescent effect that Sparkle on Top gives to your nails. It’s a little thick in consistency so, all you need is 1 coat over your base color.
Sparkle On Top is available for purchase at local Ulta Beauty stores, CVS, or even online through Essie.com Suggested Retail: $8.50
