Hey guys.. hope you’re holiday shopping thus far has been a success!
I’ve had a pretty good run myself, with a few minor exchanges, but all in all I’m pretty happy with the deals i’ve scored. I did miss the boat on Victorias Secret 50% OFF bra offer… but other than that i’ve made out pretty well.
Through my online shopping experience I definitely encountered something very interesting that i think is really important for all consumers to be aware of.
I was online shopping at Dicks.com & they were having a great deal on Nike sneakers that I couldn’t pass up. I’m absolutely obsessed with my Nike Free RN running sneakers in black, so i decided to pick up another pair in a color to match my new leggings. Assuming this would be an easy purchase, I selected the same size that I currently own.
When they arrived I tried them on and oddly enough they were a 1/2 size too small. Completely perplexed I stopped by a local Dicks store to make my exchange for a larger size. Come to find out, that Nike has 3 different factories in which they produce their sneakers! Indonesia, China (where my black pair were made) and Vietnam (where my online sneakers were made)
After speaking to one of the sales associates they informed me, when you shop online at Dicks.com they pull your order from the nearest store to your location. Well not all the stores receive the same factory shipments of goods, so the size specs can potentially differ! Clearly this is a quality control issue that Nike needs to address!
It’s pretty annoying to say the least, ’cause now that Nike is clearing out they’re overstock, they’re introducing new color ways in the Nike Free RN sneakers and I really liked a blue pair that they just released. Of course they’re not on sale, but I did have a $10 coupon I was able to use. 🙂
Since the store’s haven’t received the new colors yet, I decided to order two pairs in two different sizes, with the hopes that one of the two will fit! Well, that’s a gamble, ’cause i’m putting out $200 for sneakers, with the hopes that i’m not shipped a pair from Vietnam! (Indonesia and China factories have the correct size specs, but Vietnam runs a bit smaller.) Plus, I’ll have to return one of the two… Pretty inconvenient if you ask me. At some point I will write a letter to Nike & Dicks with the hopes that they can get their factories quality control in order.
So, with that being said… if you order Nike sneakers online be aware that you might have a size issue.
Other than that, I had a great experience when ordering my new leggings from Dona Jo Fitwear (out of Pittsburgh, PA) unique printed, low compression, high waist leggings that fit like a glove and are soft and ultra comfy! There’s something about the fabric they use, it’s sourced from Brazil and they make my butt look amaz! lol They have capri’s, shorts and skirts. Click the link below to check out what’s new.
Lately I’ve been obsessed with sugar sculls & the grunge look. So, I purchased some cool stuff from RebelCircus.com – alternative clothing, tatoo art etc.. They’re currently having a major up to 80% off sale!
To full fill my love for powerlifting and support the companies that support the sport there’s a few new companies I discovered via instagram & picked up some great new raglan tee’s and tanks.
- HVIII Brand Goods
- Project X
- Strength and Honor (Supporting one of the greatest powerlifters of all time Ed Coan)
My gym gear is most definitely on fleek now!
