Inspired by my cousin’s affinity for cool geometric color blocking nail designs found on pinterest I decided to try it out using some of my new Spring colors from Essie.
Color blocking is really easy to do.. especially if the colors you’re using are opaque.  Using shades that contrast in color and have 100% coverage help when layering them.

Here’s what you’ll need for this color blocking springtime mani!

The Tools

Pastel Purple: Full Steam Ahead by Essie
Bright Fuchsia: Flowerista by Essie
Mint:  Blossom Dandy by Essie
White Nail Polish
Nail art striping brush

All of the colors mentioned above can be found at your local CVS, Ulta Beauty Store, or at your local beauty salon.
Each retail for $8.50/ bottle

Step 1:  After applying a clear base coat to your nails.  Add 1 coat of Full Steam Ahead by Essie all over each nail.

Step 2:  Next using a pastel bright mint nail polish – Blossom Dandy by Essie…  Using the nail polish brush you can create a fine line using one stroke swipe a diagonal line across your nails & fill in the rest with the color.

Step 3: Using you striping brush… section off another part of your nail by outlining your shape with a bright Fuschia nail polish (Flowerista by Essie).
Fill in the rest with the color.

Step 4: Lastly using a white striping nail art brush… or your nail art striping brush and a white nail polish.. Paint a thin white line along the edge of the mint on each nail.
Finish off your design by sealing in your nail polish with 1 coat of your favorite dry fast clear polish!
